I constantly catch what I always desire by simply smiling. Yaay! I never thought what’s gotten in to me lately but I decided not to be friendly, at all. I know this is weird for those who knew me as funny and witty that I’ve always been. Nah, those were their words not mine. So to give justice to beau lies, I would want to take the challenge to myself and continue doing what I think is right. Being on this situation proved me one thing -- I might say that I am quiet but I am a part of the crowd that contributes something to eleemosynary causes of what is establish right now. Naks! But to be honest, I would rather say that this is the life that filled me with sooo much thrill. Especially at this very moment that I am writing this.. |

The Friday that MJ died, I was really surprised when I’m watching Umagang kay Ganda when breaking news came into the screen of my TV and says that Michael Jackson is dead. At age 50, he did a great job in the music industry. I am not ashamed to admit that I grew up listening to him. Hey! I’m a child of the 80’s and I’m not that old haha!! When I was still in elementary days, my Saturday afternoons was spent watching his concerts especially the “Dangerous World Tour”. It was the best!! I can still recall once my mom called my name, it’s merienda time once again and I have to rewind the tape so once I’m done with my snack, another round of the same tape will be played. Too sad that DVDs and CDs were not uso then, thus resulting my VHS copy to get molds. I wasn’t able to save it, dammit. But after a year when the price of the collectors edition of MJ’s CDs and DVDs depreciates, definitely I’ll get my copies from my favorite record bar—odyssey (naks!! plugging!!). Michael Jackson, you are the BEST!
So what is the CD playing in my player then?
The answer would have to “David Archuleta” I was so, so shocked to know that his full name is “David James Archuleta” what a name!! All rolled-into-one is the best way to describe my astonishment. And now I know that a new moniker is on it’s way. Yikes!
I just got the copy [of my David Archuleta CD] last Saturday! And I am playing it over and over non-stop. Malapit na mag rap si David! Wahaha!! While I was strolling around cinema, checking the new movies, I saw New Moon’s poster. I ran quickly and strut beside Edward! I know, I know, Edward is just a fictional character but he was my ultimate “fictional” character crush. Maybe what I like about him is how romantic he is? How he took care of Bella perhaps? Nah, maybe he’s like a perfectly curved statue come to life. Whoa! So this is the picture of me. If I will be included on the poster, then it must be “New Moon with SpongeBob” haha!! Mallrat me in just a t-shirt, shorts, flip-flops and sunnies sans make-up. No more no less. I just have to hook the car keys on my shorts’ belt hoops and hold on to my mobile phone to attend the important calls that I cannot afford to miss or else I’m dead. |

| i'm jealous!!! |
Two Thursdays ago while we were on our way to St. Jude, a friend of mine and a blogger as well Aian asked me “bakit di ka na nag uupdate ng blog mo?” Maybe one reason why I’m typing right now is to update my blog?! Probably yes, probably no. But one reason was I lost the theme I’ve worked so hard and now, my blog theme is something I can truthfully say ‘boring’. What made me finally update my blog is about a book I just finished reading last Monday. It was another novel by Paulo Coelho. He is one of my favorite writers and I have plans of reading all his books.
Eleven Minutes—a narrative suggested by someone who happens to be a friend which I haven’t get the chance to hang out with yet. Don’t get me wrong with that statement; maybe we will get a chance to chat over a cup of coffee one day and debate of the movie we’ve seen. That’s when if both of our schedules permit and I’m crossing my fingers that it will still come to life.
I will not dwell on what the story is all about. I might spoil you if you have plans of reading it, but one thing I assure is that “This book (Eleven Minutes) is indeed light read yet full of lessons to embrace”. Maria is the main character of the story and she met a guy whom is 6 years older than her who happens to be a famous painter. They taught each others lessons that the other needs. Like in real life, the person suggested the book was 6 years younger than me! It just made me jealous of him that he seems to be more experienced in life though I am older than him. I worked 5 years ahead of him, met different kinds of people in advance of him, too. But it gives me the impression that he is well informed of what the real world is all about. That the “real world” includes pain and lessons that we can only learn from occurrences; something that no school in this planet ever included in their curriculum.
I, myself had fair share of incidents that etched in my brain after the storm passed and ruined almost everything. I might look strong as what other say of me; nevertheless in reality, I also breakdown and cry. During those times that my tooth aches like hell, I cry. If a headache attacks, I need to take Advil in the earliest opportunity or else, I will be pulling my hair and saying “agh!!”. I know how to fight in this battle of life—fight fair square and accept if I was defeated on the game.
I can do whatever for my loved ones. They are my life, my love, my everything. Like Maria in the book, she works damn hard for the money—almost neglecting what the beauty of “real love” is. I don’t want to get in to the point that I didn’t see at all the love is in front of me. Though sometimes, I tend to put out of my mind that I need to think of myself, too.
Whatever life is all about, I know that we are here on earth for a certain purpose. No matter what kind of reason for my existence, I know that one day all I’m doing will be given of the meaning that it truly deserves. |

friendster vs facebook
i'm thinking of finally saying "goodbye" to friendster and update my facebook instead. i would want to keep just one account for (online) social community. however, multiply is kinda good too :) it's like a website of your own wherein people doesn't need to create an account or login just to view your pictures, blogs, calendar, videos, etc. haaay, let's just keep my friendster account "under construction" until the time i am decided which online account i must keep aside from this blog :p |

It was Holy Tuesday yesterday and I attended to some errands which are extremely last minute. I was never been a fan of “hapitan” sessions but earlier this afternoon was worst! Ayaaaay! I got a queue number 108 and when I just got in the bank, they were serving 32. It was the most horrible thing ever happened to me this year. Okay, I sound exaggerated but it is for real.
Boredom taught me that average number of person that will go down the building to smoke is 3 in every 5-10 mins. Out of the crowd downstairs, 5 will definitely go back to work after 10-15 mins. Yikes! It was unintentional when I observed that, but it helped me pass the time away. The ratio is 2:1; technically speaking guys tend to smoke more than girls? Maybe... What I did was merely observing the employees of that building where my bank was located NOT a feasibility studies or survey. And with all these and stuff boils down into? I got tired of the puffs and went to Starbucks instead. Haaay, nothing beats the comfort that this coffee shop offers. While I was there, I noticed a small trivia. I always have been a fan of trivia and love to collect as much as I can on a daily basis if possible. The name “Starbucks” was from Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. Starbucks was the name of the ship’s first mate. So, this is the trivia that made it on my journal for today.
Have a blessed Holy Week and let’s use this time to reflect. It was actually what I’ll be doing. I hate working during Lenten season but it made me feel blessed and alive to know that I can do the things that I was asked to.
Oh, let me share this with you I read from One-Minute Pocket Bible (for the business professional)
“when fatigue walks in faith walks out. tired eyes rarely see a good future” This was written under REST. So I will take as much sleep as I can tomorrow. |

| Why Starbucks? |
Exactly a week ago, I was in a bookstore searching for a “book” (of course it’s a bookstore haha!!). But no particular “title” is in my mind while I was hunting. What clouted my bloodshot eyes was “Starbucked” by Taylor Clark. Clark quotes a 1997 Larry King interview with Howard Schultz, the company’s chairman, where Schultz outlines what should have been the plot of Clark’s book: “People weren’t drinking coffee. ... So the question is, How could a company create retail stores where coffee was not previously sold, ... charge three times more for it than the local doughnut shop, put Italian names on it that no one can pronounce, and then have six million customers a week coming through the stores?”
I remember those days that “starbucks” was so alien to me. Seriously, I’m not a fan of complicated stuff as like the names of coffee serve in coffee shops. A cup of coffee I make each morning is the same coffee I want to get when I step in any shop I saw along the way. Not until I was introduced to Starbucks. Hala! I even can’t remember when was the first time I bought coffee and fell in love with the taste ever since. I don’t know what’s gotten into me to transform my acuity about coffee shops. From then on, I decided to get a cup more often than not. It helped me stay awake during classes and somehow became refreshment during humid days. Hey! They got the best frappe as far as my taste buds are the guilty party for coming up with this conclusion; I will not disagree and who would be?
Maybe being a coffee shop philosophizer then is not bad? What are your thoughts? Hmmm. I guess it served me a lesson by simply sifting the things I learned from the hang out place of the bagets. Walang kokontra, bagets pa rin ako no? Haha!!
Protect your Quality – I remember one time I ordered a venti size white mocha frappuccino but when my name was called, the barista served grande size. I informed him that he might have misheard it or interchange with other customer that I actually ordered a venti size. He politely said “I’m sorry and I’ll make you another one”. I asked “Why didn’t you add it?” The barista replied that it will taste differently if he will do that. Every part of the “coffee” has its measurement (milk, water, ice, etc.) Huwoow! I was soooo amazed how much they protect the quality of each cup they serve.
They Blend with their Clients or Season – one reason I look forward to holiday season is the availability of my favorite “toffee nut latte” as in super gustong gusto ko yung lasa ng kape nila! To top it off, toffee nut latte is available, too. Haha!! They have many choices from signature hot choclate to blended coffees to fruit juices! Different ages will love their variety. Very creative, saludos!
Personal touch – with the industry I work with, personalization is really important. When I say important? Very. They call their customers with their names. It feels different when someone calls you by your first name which is more acceptable most of the time from ma’am, miss, ate, kuya, boss, boy or, neng (I hate it so much when someone calls me ‘nene’ or ‘neng’ which happens very often argh!!).
Couches – were offered and they are comfortable. It has this homey feeling while sipping your coffee and reading a magazine or a book. Relaxing music which are not too loud are being played on the store’s speakers. Haaay, sarap tumambay! Not to mention wifi access and free use of electricity for your laptop. Haha!! It is better to charge your laptop there than to pay the extra 50 pesos (this was the rate 9 years ago) per sem where in fact it is impossible to get a vacant outlet at all because many students has their laptop, too? And the outlets are limited. No wonder students before prefer to be on the other side of the road when their laptop’s battery is almost empty and will not survive the next hours in school.
They don’t waste coffee grounds – it is a good fertilizer and they care about mother earth. They use recycled materials like paper cups, tissue and sleeves. I love the leaflets they have, I’m planning to collect them all haha!! It’s worth reading, try it.
Charity works – who wouldn’t love to help the needy by simply buying your favorite drink? I was really happy that they help not so blessed kids to get a good education, make their classrooms comfortable and most of all books! I believe from the time when I first learn how important education is so I help support their charity by buying haha!! So much for excuse then.
Have you been Starubucked?

| New hair, new life |
After 5 years of keeping my hair long, finally I decided to cut it really short. I never thought that it would be this soon, hehe. I always tell myself that if I will get my hair chop, I want to get Mariel Rodriguez’ hairstyle which permeated me big time! I love collecting headbands, which I find cute with short hairs. Yikes! But I cannot imagine myself wearing ‘bands with pink ribbon details or tassels. Haha!! They have this saying that a girl cuts her hair if there is a decision to be made or something happened that changed her life. Nah, for record’s sake, I don’t get a heart broken like what most girls’ reason for getting a haircut. What are the benefits of having my hair short then? Simple. Less shampoo and conditioner means “savings”. Before, I use two sachets of conditioner everyday or every shower. During summer, I use 4 sachets since I take a bath more than one. I was taught that it saves you money if you use “sachets” rather than buying a big bottle, you tend to lose control if you are using (bottled) conditioner. Whatever. As long as I’m saving money, then I’m okay with it. Another thing I love right now is how the water runs on my nape. It was so cool! I’m loving it, haha!! Plus my hair doesn’t need a handful of serum to tame the growing hair. I helped cutting our electricity for a couple of pesos monthly since I do not use hair dryer at all. I can just run through my fingers on it to fix it aside from pulling out a comb every single time the wind ruin my hair. I read an article that made me believe that having a short hair is way cool. It makes your summer more enjoyable, less maintenance and again—less shampoo and conditioner means savings! Haha!! You can be versatile if you have short hair. You can wear extensions or wigs if you want to style your hair for an occasion. This is really applicable if you made a bad decision to cut your hair really short. It won’t grow overnight, naman kasi padalos-dalos! But for me, no regrets talaga. |

My birthday post (this is uber late!!) it is better late than sorry
I celebrated my 26th birthday exactly 20 days ago. Yearly, I realized that there is one lesson contributed to my years of existence. Most of these lessons are based from my own experience. This year, it was different. Luckily, a woman I know that much told me a story that I can’t help but paid attention to. Incidents that happen to her in nearly 3 years made her a better woman—maybe a stronger woman that can be called “a woman of substance”.
He met a guy last 2006 and they hit it off. I can say that she was sincere when she told me how happy she was spending time with *Robert. Most of the time, they update what’s happening with their lives. *Mena might be at ease telling Robert stories like how her day went, what did she do on a weekend (this includes: shopping with friends, out-of-town trips, or simply a movie she had seen with family). The usual stuff that two person might talk about especially when they were still in “getting to know stage”. Whew. Mushy? Yeah, I had my fair share of the stories she once shred with us. How her eyes light whenever she mentions the name “Robert”. What her Robert did the other day or what was the update given to her on their normal 1 hour phone call. They seem to look happy and in-love? I don’t have the faintest clue with that. I didn’t dare ask Mena what she truly feels back then.
But things changes, as the world turns on its axis—definitely we are moving forward to something that is synonymous to 'change'. Change is constant; we admit this since we knew that world is unfair at times. We have been so unreasonable with the hints given to us, we chose to close our eyes instead and when the point in time comes that we cannot take it anymore, we got hurt because we let ourselves to get hurt. Same thing happened to Mena, she forced herself to be someone whom she is not when he doesn’t have Robert yet in her life. Robert has the weirdest stuff stored in his mind. I swear! He might look and act as if he came from another world that we never thought that exist. Mena and him are complete opposite. Mena is outgoing, fun, friendly, and willing to learn. Robert on the other hand is jaded. He even thought that reading a fictional book is a no-no. If I was in Mena’s shoes that time, man I will say right away, “libro mo?” Nakakaasar talaga.
Now, Mena is free and I am happy for her. Call me bad, mean, terrible—any synonym that you can think right now! I will accept but for sure you will understand why. Let me share my point of view on this.
Mena was nice enough not to tell Robert how boring he is. No, seriously. If I was her, I wouldn’t come up to his face and say “Boring, so boring!” What I will do is tell him to try things and not be judgmental. Opening our mind to something new wouldn’t hurt. It’s like seeing what it’s all about and it’s up to you if you want to welcome a possible change or not. We are not kids anymore; we have our brain to use. Like what I have written in my old post “God placed the brain on top so it will govern everything under it”. This includes our heart. A relationship will not last or work if we will use our fragile heart all the time. It is still best to use our ruling and weigh things. My friend just tiried to work things out, but Robert was such a frail guy. He thought of himself as someone who must be superior on their relationship but it should not be like that. The guy must respect the girl if she asked for some space, there is a reason behind (that) and you will know when time comes. You must be patience to wait and not say hurtful words right away.
I learned from someone’s story is stick with what you feel is right. Open-mind in a relationship is very healthy. Luckier girl I am with these things that I haven’t had to get through just to save a relationship. Knowing your self is important. List your own rules. If anytime by now Mena is reading this, I will share with her my own list that I wasn't able to do when he still have Robert in her life.
· No name calling. · Don’t see each other everyday. · Going to church together. · Discussing issues if both parties are calm. · Tell your partner all the stuff you want to share. · Do not force yourself to say something if you cannot. · Find time to spend with your friends without him/her.
With all these being said, I am no expert but I know what I want. My pasts relationships ended but still I am friends with them. We still hang out with our friends and communication didn’t stop. Feeling ko blessed ako to have someone by my side for years were we feel so protective of one another. No other guy could be as sweet, caring and lovable like him.
*names were changed on this entry. to my friend who agree and trusted me to write this, thank you. |

25 things about you.
the bandwagon is on and i never thought that i will join, too. as in super kalat sa internet yung "25 things about you" were people you know (or you do not know you and [just] send a spam and your email address was copied from the loop) will read 25 facts, trivia, or simply anything about you that you might want to share. i had fun reading other person's list and smile everytime i read something that we have in common. super aliw siya and i am shy to admit na nakiki-uso na din ako ngayon. so here is my list:
- i do not eat papaya but i drink papaya shake.
- i am still in the process of learning how to eat ice cream on a cone, drink soda (or any in-can) without a drinking straw and eating taho without a spoon.
- traveling gives me so much joy!
- i've been out-of-town for the most number of times in less than 7 months than what i did for my whole life.

- i love tumbling shots.
- i got nips in my bag always.
- i love lindsay lohan and i want to be her friend.
- i always have earphones plugged-in during work.
- 8 and 1 are my lucky numbers.
